Small Groups
The small group ministry of GIPC takes the form of Men's and Women's Bible Studies and a Sunday School hour in which we gather together to dig into the Word of God and seek to apply it to our lives.
We believe that men are called to be the chief worshipers in their homes - leading their families to see and savor the wonder of the love of God manifest on the Cross. To that end, the men of the church gather once a month on the 2nd Saturday for fellowship and Bible study.
In a culture that is obsessed with appearance and outward beauty we believe that the Church is called to be distinctly counter-cultural, calling our women to find their beauty not ultimately in fancy hairstyle, expensive jewelry or beautiful clothes, but in the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God (1 Peter 3:3-4). The women of the church gather on Monday mornings for prayer and twice a month for an evening Bible Study.
It is on Sunday mornings that we gather during our Sunday School class for the third small group study opportunity, an hour of study prior to our morning service. In this small-group setting, we walk together through Theology, History, and Life Application and help each other in our discussions understand the Cross and its implications.
In all of these small group settings our aim is the same, and that is to point one another back again and again to the Cross of Christ, to remind ourselves of the hope of the Gospel, and to spur one another on to live lives that are shaped by that Gospel.
