- As
you approach St. Simons Island, stay in the right lane if you are headed
along Kings Way toward The Lodge, Village, Pier, Lighthouse and museum,
and beaches. The two lanes curving left (north) form part of a large
traffic circle. Of these two lanes, the left lane will take you to the
traffic light at Demere/Sea Island Road; continue straight
(north) on Sea Island Road and follow directions to the church (below).
The right lane merges traffic right (east) onto Demere Road. Exiting
the Island - Demere
Road (heading west from the intersection with Sea Island Road) is now one-way. Go here

- DIRECTIONS:
Golden
Isles Presbyterian Church is
located near Hampton Point at the north end of St.
Simons Island, one of the beautiful sea islands
of
Coastal Georgia. We are approximately 70 miles south of
Savannah, Georgia and 50 miles north of Jacksonville, Florida.
From
the North (Savannah):
Take I-95 south to Exit 38 (Golden Isles Parkway or "Spur
25"); turn left (east) onto the Parkway and continue to the end
(6 traffic lights); merge right with Route 17 south. Proceed south on Rte 17 to the
Torras Causeway/St. Simons Island (3rd traffic light). Turn left onto
the Causeway. Continue with "On St Simons" below.
From
the South (Jacksonville):
Take I-95 north to Exit 29 (Route 17/82); turn right towards Jekyll
Island/Brunswick/St. Simons Island; continue over the Sidney Lanier
Memorial Bridge into Brunswick;
go past Spanky's Restaurant and the first traffic light (Gloucester Street);
just after this light, enter the merge lane
on your right to the Torras Causeway/St. Simons Island. Continue with "On St Simons" below.
On
St. Simons:
As you approach the Island remain in the left lane and follow the new
traffic circle around to the left (north) onto Sea Island Road.
Continue
north, through the intersection of Sea Island Road/Demere Road to the
next light, Frederica Road. Turn left on Frederica and go north 2-1/2
miles to the traffic circle by Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens. Enter
the circle and take the first road to the right (Lawrence Road); this
eventually becomes
Hampton Point Drive. Continue north on Lawrence Road/Hampton Point Drive
about 4+ miles to
the church, located on the left side of the road.
